The Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Podgorica opened a case against Metropolitan Metodije of Budimlja-Nikšić on suspicion of the criminal offense of inciting national, racial and religious hatred, it was confirmed by the News from that judicial institution.
The case was formed after Metropolitan Metodije on August 28, during the celebration of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Piva Monastery, speaking about Ratko Mladić, the Hague convict, said that “in Mladić, the people recognized all those wonderful and holy qualities of Serbian warriors and knights”.
The Diocese of Budimljansko-Nikšić previously announced that after the liturgy in the Piva Monastery, a “commemoration of the newly presented servant of God General Ratko Mladić” was served.
Mladić, who was found guilty by the Hague Tribunal of genocide in Srebrenica, crimes against humanity and violations of the laws and customs of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, died on August 27, and was buried in Belgrade on Monday.
