The Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), Igor Stojanovic (SDP), claimed that SDA is willing to give up 78% of the territory of BiH to establish an Islamic Republic on 22% of the country’s land.
“Is there anyone who can explain SDA’s patriotism? They are ready to give up 78% of the territory of BiH to establish an Islamic Republic on 22% of the land! Who is leading this kind of thinking?” Stojanovic posted on his X account.
Stojanovic further clarified this statement, and here is his full explanation:
“Bakir Izetbegovic has mentioned ‘Bosniak territory’ several times, just as Lidija Bradara argues that the state shouldn’t decide on the route of the Southern Gas Interconnection, saying it’s not within her jurisdiction on that territory. This is HDZ’s policy that we’ve seen before, and it is tearing the state apart at the seams.
Now, SDA is giving lectures on patriotism to the Coalition of the Three, speaking about Bosniak territory, which directly plays into the hands of HDZ and SNSD policies, both of which are aimed at dividing the state.
I can’t comprehend this approach in any context, and SDP opposes it. Bakir Izetbegovic has repeatedly referred to ‘Bosniak territory.’ It’s not disputed that Bosniaks perhaps fought the hardest and want a multi-ethnic BiH, but it’s evident that SDA’s politics don’t represent Bosniaks as a whole. They are talking about Bosniak territory, not a multi-ethnic BiH. This is unacceptable. This is an additional force attempting to divide the country. I don’t understand how any intelligent person can lead such a policy, especially someone who swears by the Bosniaks, who perhaps care the most about BiH, but also all others who see BiH as their homeland, as it is with the necessary changes that must occur to make all peoples equal across the entire territory, which is not the case under the Dayton Agreement.”
Stojanovic’s post sparked numerous reactions, including one from BiH actor Emir Hadzihafizbegovic, a member of SDA, who called him a “rotten degenerate.”
On the other hand, SDA stated that Izetbegovic never mentioned “Bosniak territory” and that it has never been the party’s policy. They argue that political opponents are merely taking statements out of context.
SDA‘s delegate Edin Ramic also responded on Facebook, saying:
“You have to be both mentally and politically limited, and just as rotten, to make such a statement, my dear Santa Claus, Igor. If we had been giving up territory by your formula, by accepting asymmetric solutions in the constitutions of the entities and the Law on Residency, today we wouldn’t have anyone in Republika Srpska (RS) calling themselves ‘pro-Bosnian,’ whatever that means. Maybe that would suit you since there are too many Serbs in SDP, which is becoming problematic. Especially since many are rushing to join SDP in RS, of course, after joining forces with SDA and potentially securing a mandate that way.”, Klix.ba writes.
