Strengthen Cooperation of BiH and Russia

1 Lagumdzija - Botsan-Kharchenko 17 6 2013The BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdžija received yesterday the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH Alexandar Botsan-Kharchenko.

Lagumdžija and Ambassador Botsan-Kharchenko assessed Lagumdžija’s two-day visit to the Russian Federation (30-31 May 2013) as very important for the further improvement of bilateral relations of the two countries.

They placed particular importance on holding a business forum of BiH-Russian Federation, discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergej Lavrov and the signing of an agreement between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Russian Federation on mutual travel of citizens and a consultation plan of the ministries of foreign affairs of BiH and the Russian Federation for 2013-2014.

They expressed confidence that the above would result in the strengthening of cooperation between BiH and Russia, especially in the area of economy, said in a statement by the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting they spoke of the construction of the Južni tok, and of the current political and economic opportunities in BiH.
