European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre announced on the website that an earthquake of 6.7 degrees on the Richter scale struck central Italy at 7.40 am and it was felt in the north and the south of Italy as well as in the neighboring countries of Croatia, Slovenia and BiH, and later they corrected the strength at 6.5 degrees on the Richter scale.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers, 68 kilometers south-east of Perugia, between Perugia and Macerata in Norcia. The Italian news agency stated that there is no information on casualties and damage yet, according to Index.
