13181109_1178971205487167_1464067549_nStory of the BiH company Eco Bel is a proof that good business results can be achieved in agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the first year of production, this company became leader in the export of dried fruits, primarily plums, from BiH. Director Executive of the company Almin Karamehić said that they are being successful for the third year already and that they export almost everything they produce to Turkey, Germany, France, Slovenia, Austria and Serbia.

„We are satisfied with the existing partners. We are currently working on two projects which are both in the final stage. We have signed pre-contracts with exceptionally strong partners from Turkey and Austria. Implementation of the projects is expected in the next two months, and that will ensure a constant source of income for the factory and enable further development and expansion of the factory,“ Karamehić said.

The factory in Kozarska Dubica employs 23 workers, three of which are food technology engineers and three are agricultural engineers of different specializations.

The company is one of the largest exporters of processed food from BiH. Three years ago, when the year was extraordinarily fertile, they exported 400 tons of plums from BiH. In the next two years the export reduced, but thanks to this result they are still on the very top.

After plums, they also achieve great results in exporting wild onions.

„We have a good partner from Germany who has been buying from us for three years now. The buyer is satisfied with quality and returns every year,“ said Karamehić, explaining that they have good cooperation with several BiH companies through which they obtain raw materials (wild onions). They visit minor gatherers of forest products, educate them about gathering, packaging and transportation of wild onions, and after processing the onions end up in German restaurants and on German tables.
