Federal Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić today presented six modern iPhone 16e mobile phones to blind people, members of the Association, at the premises of the Association of the Blind of the Sarajevo Canton, the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy announced.

The purchase of mobile phones was realized through the program of the Association of the Blind of the Sarajevo Canton, and with the support of the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. For years, the Association has been working in parallel with the institutional system to provide modern assistive technologies for blind and severely visually impaired people, and in the last five years, the Association has distributed more than 100 computers to its members, while in the last two years, around 80 devices have been provided within the framework of the program of purchasing modern mobile phones.

“A modern mobile phone for a blind person is a basic aid that enables independence, access to information and equal participation in society. Support for such projects means a concrete improvement in the quality of life of people with disabilities,” said Minister Delić, who has been participating in the implementation of this program of support for the blind and visually impaired in the Sarajevo Canton for the second year in a row through the Ministry’s programs.

The President of the Association of the Blind of the Sarajevo Canton, Fikret Zuko, pointed out that modern mobile phones enable blind people to communicate, use the Internet and social networks, read and write texts, record information, recognize colors and inscriptions, as well as navigate everyday life situations more easily.

“These devices are an essential tool for the independent functioning of blind people, especially those who are in education, work or are socially active. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and Minister Delić for their continued support for our work,” said Zuko.
