The aim of the gathering, organized by Imran Čekić from Tuzla in cooperation with the Association Bosnian-Syrian Solidarity, was to support the citizens of Syria, especially in Aleppo, and it was also a call for the citizens of European and world metropolises to join the global campaign #StandWithAleppo.
“We empathize with the people of Syria and Aleppo because in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in Srebrenica, we experienced the same,” said Čekić.
According to the President of the Steering Committee of the Association Bosnian-Syrian Solidarity Mustafa Bakou, every form of support for the people of Syria is very important in these hard times.
“We want to send a message to the world that those things that are happening in Syria are terrible. World officials say every now and then how Srebrenica should never happen again, but it happens almost every day in Syria,” said Bakou.
The gathering was held at the Square of the Victims of the Srebrenica Genocide in Tuzla and people of Tuzla sent a message that the bloodshed from Aleppo must never happen to anyone again.
