Today, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republika Srpska is organizing a tactical exercise in the area of Jahorina and Mrkonjic Grad.

Due to this exercise, the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljko Komsic, reacted by informing the Deputy US Secretary of State and the US President’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar.

Today’s exercise was also monitored by EUFOR helicopter, which was confirmed by the RS Minister of the Interior, Dragan Lukac.

“You had the opportunity to see an EUFOR plane appear that flew five or six times around. For that reason, we did not lift another helicopter so as not to create an incident situation. They had no need for that given that EUFOR representatives are here. We are hiding absolutely nothing and everything they could see from the air they could see here from the ground as well “, said Lukac.

Lukac said that the exercise was not a provocation and that it was announced several months ago. He added that the location was chosen because of the great tourist potential that Jahorina has and the large number of people during the season.
