Yesterday in front of Sarajevo City Hall was presented the first new cabin of Trebevic cable car which, as announced, should start operating by the next summer.

After the Mayor of Sarajevo, Ivo Komsic, signed an agreement with representatives of the Italian company Leitner on the main project, as well as equipment delivery, installation and commissioning of Trebevic cable car, with a symbolic mini installation, which shows new gondola of the cable car, works on the revitalization of the cable car were continued.

During signing a contract with an Italian company Leitner, Mayor Komsic said that it is a great pleasure to formalize the continuation of works on the revitalization of Trebevic cable car.

“It is a great pleasure to formalize this although some work is already behind us. The company will install the machines, with the correct project. We expect the opening to take place next year, during the summer. It is unrealistic to say that it will be on the 6th of April, because of all the work,” said Komsic.

Mini-installation in the form of a new gondola of Trebevic cable car was opened by Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Abdullah Skaka with Alija Hadziosmanovic-Braco.

“This is one of the most interesting projects for Sarajevo, which is confirmed by the large number of media present here today. This is a continuation of the story that the city of Sarajevo witnessed in the last 5-6 months. This administration and I have accepted our functions because of the cable car.”

These are new gondolas, and we will be able to use them unlike those previous which were not adequate. Now it is up to the contractor, and we have prepared everything necessary, and we will work on the protection and renovation of the entire Trebevic at the same time,” said Skaka.

Gondola will be in the Olympic colors and will reflect the unity and multi-ethnic Sarajevo, as announced at the presentation of the gondola in front of Sarajevo City Hall.
