A group of around 11,000 taxi drivers in the United Kingdom has filed a lawsuit against Uber for breaching London taxi booking rules between 2012 and 2018.
A class action will be launched today in the Supreme Court regarding Uber’s activities in the capital London between May 2012 and March 2018, British media reported.
Almost 11,000 taxi drivers claim that Uber misled public transport operator Transport for London about how it operates its taxi booking system and therefore breached private hire licensing rules.
Case management company RGL Management shared information that the drivers’ compensation claim is worth at least £250 million, meaning each taxi driver would receive roughly £25,000, AA writes.
