The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zoran Tegeltija, talked today in Ohrid with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaev.

The meeting, held on the eve of the International Conference "Western Balkans: The Missing Part of the Puzzle to Fill Europe", discussed the improvement of bilateral relations between BiH and Northern Macedonia, the process of European integration, and the strengthening of trade exchange.

On this occasion, Chairman Tegeltija reiterated the commitment of the Council of Ministers for European integration, with full respect for the constitutional competencies of all levels of government and respect for the Dayton Agreement.

Chairman Tegeltija informed Prime Minister Zaev about the political and economic situation in BiH, and about the implementation of activities that all levels of government in BiH, in accordance with their competencies, carry out in order to overcome the challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic and improve the economic environment.

During the talks, the interlocutors jointly assessed that the process of European integration is demanding and difficult, but that trust and the ability to fulfill obligations are important, and stressed the interest of both countries in advancing regional initiatives in the context of better integration.

After the bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers will also meet with the Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations for Europe, Central Asia and the United States on the sidelines of the international conference.
