The Tenth Scholarship Fair was held at the Rectorate of the University of Sarajevo. This year, a total of 54 local and international institutions exhibited at individual booths at the event, including the Embassy of Japan, providing information about scholarships and other opportunities for study and exchange.

In his opening address, Ambassador Sakamoto mentioned how around 50 students from BiH have so far studied abroad in Japan as part of the Japanese government scholarship program, which was established in BiH in 1998.

The Ambassador also touched upon the establishment of the integrated Japanese Lectorate at the Faculty of Philosophy, UNSA, which is starting class in October this year; he also held interviews with local media.

UNSA Rector Prof. dr. Skrijelj expressed his deep appreciation to the Ambassador and the Embassy of Japan for all assistance shown to local citizens, including but not limited to the opportunities for young people to study abroad in Japan.
