At the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, two so-called European laws, and BiH Minister of Justice Davor Bunoza hopes that these laws will receive support in the House of Peoples as well.

“I am glad that when it comes to the Law on Amendments to the Law on the HJPC, two amendments concerning the transparency of the publication of data on the relatives of judges and prosecutors who work in the judiciary, the legal profession, the attorney general’s office, the secretariat and the notary have been accepted… This will be now available to the public, but an amendment was also adopted regarding an additional property check,” said Bunoza.

“As for the integrity, and what is most important for the holders of judicial functions, currently in the law on the HJPC, you have only one sentence that refers to the integrity of judicial functions, and according to the draft of this law, there are 10 articles and 65 paragraphs that regulate the verification of assets, an additional check, but also a check of those who check them”, added Bunoza.

He believes that these two laws represent the beginning of a serious judicial reform in BiH.

The law on freedom of access to information, he also says, represents the beginning of a serious opening of public administration with the aim of making it transparent, N1 reports.
