The Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) have transferred part of the helicopters from Rajlovac to the “Mahovljani” barracks in Banja Luka.

These are helicopters that were most recently donated to us by the United States (U.S.), and the AFBiH confirmed the transfer of aircraft from Sarajevo to Banja Luka.

“After the completion of retraining and qualification of 1st Helicopter Squadron personnel on UH-1H-II type helicopters, which began at the end of 2021, the transfer of UH-1H-II helicopters from Rajlovac barracks to Mahovljani airport was carried out on April 28th, 2025,” they said.

They also added that this squadron is ready to carry out tasks within the AFBiH.

“After this, the 1st Helicopter Squadron can continue to carry out tasks of air transport, medical evacuation, firefighting, search, and rescue, as well as other tasks in fulfilling the main missions of the AFBiH even more effectively,” the AFBiH stated.
