The Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Serbia, Aleksandar Vranješ, refused to deliver a protest note to Serbia on the occasion of the All-Serbian Assembly.
Vranješ stated that “this is an attempt at performance” by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković.
After the conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Marko Đurić, he said that he wanted to “explain to the journalists the unsuccessful attempt of Minister Konaković to deliver a protest note”.
“I neither brought that note, nor did I deliver it to Serbia. They tried to do it through me, but the reason why I didn’t is not only related to my political views, but also to procedural reasons. The Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers has no right to create foreign policy actions or foreign policy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is within the competence of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Vranješ.
According to him, “Konaković has no right to create any protest note, nor to send it, and he tried to do it personally, even though he has no legal right to do so”.
Answering the question of BiH’s position regarding the All-Serbian Assembly, Vranješ said that BiH does not have a position because its position is formulated when the three members of the BiH Presidency make a decision.
