The Bosniak Institute – Adil Zulfikarpašić Foundation awarded today Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, with the Golden Medal of the Bosniak Institute for the year 2022, which is awarded to deserving individuals for their contribution to science, culture, and the overall prosperity of BiH society.
With expressions of gratitude, Fajon pointed out that she was honored with the award, which she sees first of all as a recognition of Slovenia, which has always supported BiH and its people in achieving their goals on the way to a better future.
“We always say that our relations are traditionally friendly and good and that there are no open questions, and this is not just an established diplomatic phrase. This is the solid basis of our cooperation,” said Fajon.
She reminded that last year the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was celebrated and that during that period intensive and extensive cooperation was developed in practically all areas. She emphasized that today it is important to think about the future and that the future of BiH and the entire region of the Western Balkans is in the EU.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute, Fehim Škaljić, presented the Golden Medal to Tanja Fajon and stated that the decision to award the Medal was made based on her exceptional contribution to the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its interests, history, culture and art, as well as her help in presenting Bosnia and Herzegovina’s comprehensive heritage as European inheritance.
