Festival activities and supporting programs of the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival are being held at more than 20 locations in Sarajevo Canton this year. The police officers of the MoI Police Directorate of Sarajevo Canton, who are on the ground day and night, ensure that everything goes smoothly in terms of operational, physical, KDZ and traffic security, it was stated in a statement from the Cabinet of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton.

In the past six festival days, more than 40 public events were held in Sarajevo Canton, and the police secured each of them. Everything went smoothly and without disturbing public order and peace.

The situation in the field of traffic is monitored by police officers of the Traffic Unit of the Police Administration of the MoI of Sarajevo Canton, so in the previous six days of the festival, almost 8,000 vehicles and drivers were controlled.

In the previous days, the police officers of the MoI Police Directorate of the Sarajevo Canton, in addition to the program content of the SFF and accompanying activities, also ensured an extremely serious meeting – the “Sarajevo Mayors Summit 2026” which was attended by the mayors of Zagreb, Ljubljana, Podgorica, Pristina, Ankara, Istanbul, Brussels and other cities, as well as the visit of the President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović to Sarajevo. These activities also went without problems.

The police officers of the MoJ of Sarajevo Canton have another challenging task, securing a public gathering in front of the Eternal Flame, where the world-famous DJ Solomun will perform tomorrow. Tens of thousands of people were present at his last performance in Sarajevo in 2022, and a large number of visitors are expected this time as well.

Katica and Hajdarević visited the police officers deployed in the city

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, and the Police Commissioner of the Canton Sarajevo MoI Police Directorate, Fatmir Hajdarević, visited the police officers who were deployed in the previous days to provide operational and physical security in the city.

“I am proud of our police and the work they do. In order to come to a city, you must first of all feel safe, and every year more and more visitors come to us, which in itself is proof of the impressions they brought with them from Sarajevo. In addition, in the surveys of visitors to the SFF, guests give the best rating precisely for the feeling of security in the city, and that is why I congratulate Police Commissioner Fatmir Hajdarević and all the police officers who these days keep a watchful eye on and monitor all the happenings in the city and contribute to making everyone feel safe,” Minister Katica said.

The management of the Sarajevo Film Festival also expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation, which confirmed that the presence of the police and their engagement is at an enviable level this year as well, it was stated in the statement.
