The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CIK BiH) confirmed today that on 20.10.2025. it received a letter from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the verdict against Milorad Dodik, and forwarded it for possible action to the Basic Court and the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka.
“Given that, according to the Law on Political Organizations (“Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska” 15/96), the CEC BiH is not an institution that registers political parties, maintains a register of political organizations, which includes the registration of authorized persons to represent political parties, but rather is the jurisdiction of the Basic Court according to the seat of the political organization, the very next day, October 21, 2025, the CEC BiH forwarded the letter from Judge Sena Uzunović, with the judgments in the first and second instance proceedings in the Milorad Dodik case, for possible competent action to the Basic Court in Banja Luka, where the political party Alliance of Independent Social Democrats – SNSD – Milorad Dodik is registered, as well as to the District Public Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka, and also submitted everything to Judge Uzunović for information,” the CEC BiH statement states.
The CEC BiH also states that it has completed the procedure for certifying political entities and candidates for the upcoming early elections for the President of the Republika Srpska and has determined the order of political entities on the ballot in accordance with the provisions of the Election Law of BiH and by-laws.
“Among the registered and certified political entities is the political party Alliance of Independent Social Democrats – SNSD – Milorad Dodik. An appeal was filed with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the decision to certify the aforementioned political party by the political entity “For Justice and Order – List of Nebojša Vukanović”. After considering the appeal, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its session held on 10.10.2025, issued a decision rejecting the appeal in question, and determining that the Decision of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the certification of the political party Alliance of Independent Social Democrats – SNSD – Milorad Dodik is correct and lawful, and the appeal is unfounded,” it stated.
“The decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH has thus become final and enforceable. It is not possible to apply extraordinary legal remedies to this decision,” the statement reads.
