The central ceremony for this special night was held in the capital city of B&H, after Maghrib prayer in Gazi Husrev-Bey’s mosque.

Special event of reciting Quran was held on the occasion of the blessed night of Laylatul Mi’raaj, where a large number of believers had a chance to hear excerpts from the Quran, the holy book of Islam.

Participants in the program are reciters of Quran, representatives of faculty and medresas (Islamic high school) from Islamic community, which are, according to their achievements and results, among the best reciters of Quran in BiH.

A lecture, on the occasion of this blessed night, was held by Prof. Dr. Zuhdija Hasanovic.

Hasanovic talked about the development of the educational institutions of the Islamic Community, as well as the value of benefactors who have made significant contributions to the establishment of vakuf of educational and scientific institutions and the development of B&H.

He also mentioned the most deserving modern day benefactors who continue to enhance the practice of charity work throughout BiH.

For Muslims, Laylatul Mi’raaj represents the night of the journey of the Prophet Muhamed from Mecca to the sacred temple of Mosque Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, and then his lofty travel, elevation to the heavenly spheres where Muslims were directly prescribed prayer as one of the main religious duties and one of the main pillars of the faith.
