The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Denis Becirovic, held talks with the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz, during the European Political Community summit held in the United Kingdom (UK).

Becirovic pointed out the anti-Dayton and unconstitutional actions of the authorities in the BiH entity Republika Srpska (RS), as well as the increasingly open interference of the Republic of Serbia in the internal affairs of BiH, according to a statement from Becirovic’s office, which added:

”He particularly emphasized the danger of potential consequences of the Declaration from the so-called ‘All-Serbian Assembly,’ which, if certain conclusions are implemented, could jeopardize both international and national law of BiH, as well as peace and stability in BiH and the region.”

During the conversation, Chancellor Scholz confirmed strong support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of BiH, and emphasized that any threat to the Dayton Peace Agreement is unacceptable. He highlighted that Germany will remain a strong economic and political partner to BiH in implementing reforms that will ensure the improvement of the rule of law, democracy, and economic development.

Becirovic expressed gratitude for Germany’s engagement within the Berlin Process, which involves supporting the full European Union (EU) perspective of the Western Balkan countries, including BiH, as well as the economic and infrastructural development of the entire region and the improvement of comprehensive cooperation between the countries of the region, AA writes.
