The Agency for Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage and Development of Tourist Potentials of the City of Jajce, on the occasion of the World Tourism Day, which is celebrated on September 27th, reflected on the extremely successful summer season, which attracted a record number of visitors thanks to the rich cultural-historical heritage and diverse offer events.
“Jajce has been among the most attractive tourist destinations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the surrounding area for many years. The rich cultural and historical heritage located on two rivers, Pliva and Vrbas, as well as numerous contents and events are the motive for this small town to be visited by tens of thousands of visitors every year,” the agency wrote.
This year, as it was added, Jajce, in addition to its rich cultural and historical heritage, also stood out for numerous events and activities that provided visitors with a special experience and unforgettable experiences.
Some of them are the Royal Festival, Jajce Summer Fest, Days of the Middle Ages, Art Festival “Desant”, International Waterfall Jumps, BiH Theater Games and many others.
Statistics confirm that Jajce is an increasingly attractive tourist destination every year.
Jajce achieves an above-average number of arrivals in the last 10 years, the BiH average is 18 percent, while Jajce records an increase of 24 percent. This year until September, facilities managed by the Jajce Agency were visited by 17.1 percent more tourists compared to the same period last year.
“The trend of tourism development is particularly important for our Municipality, it is noticeable throughout the community, especially among those who find a way to get involved in the tourist offer, be it through catering, hotel management, selling souvenirs, taxi services, tourist guides or the like. In the coming period, the Agency will pay special attention to the protection of the Pliva lakes, the arrangement of the city’s swimming pool, the improvement of the infrastructure at certain National Monuments and the more significant involvement of the local community in the tourist economy,” the agency stated.
On the occasion of World Tourism Day, Jajce Agency offers all visitors on Friday, September 27th, free entry to the monuments: Catacombs, Fortress, Plateau of Waterfalls.
In addition, the price of using the zip line on September 28thwill be discounted by 50 percent off the regular price, Fena writes.
