CEPOLThe project “EU support to law enforcement” organized the training on the concept of the joint investigation teams of the EU in accordance with the European Police College (CEPOL), which is held from 15 -17 October at the Police Academy of the Federal Ministry of the Interior in Sarajevo.

The Head of the Operation Section of Justice and Interior affairs of the public administration Reform of the EU Delegation in B&H Severin Strohal stated at today’s press conference in Sarajevo that the training of the B&H law enforcement agencies provided an insight of what CEPOL provides.

I hope that we will be able to facilitate the signing of an agreement between B&H and CEPOL in the near future and that would ensure the participation of B&H police to the most advanced trainings in Europe and to connect them with colleagues from the EU member states, said Strohal.

Strohal explained that the aim of the training was learning about all that is needed for the establishment of joint investigative teams, from the legal information and procedures to individual tasks, duties and responsibilities.

The “EU support to law enforcement” for which the EU provided seven million euros through IPA funds 2010 started on 2 May 2012 and will continue until 30 April 2014.
