In the presence of numerous dignitaries, the honorary consulate of the Republic of Romania was opened today in Mostar, which is also the first consular representation of Romania in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event was attended by the President of the Government of the Croatian National Council Marija Buhač, the Romanian Ambassador Anton Pacuretu, the Mayor of Mostar Mario Kordić and the President of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Herzegovina Damir Vidačak.

In an appropriate address to the diplomatic staff and all employees of the consular office, Buhač wished business and private success, to the joy and prosperity of the citizens of the two friendly countries.

“Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina have really good and friendly relations. We are bound not only by geographical proximity, but also by historical, social and cultural similarity. In our area, Romania, its institutions and businessmen have implemented a significant number of social, public and investment projects that have helped to improve the overall quality of life and work in this country. Knowing that the representatives of Romania are selflessly available to share rich experiences and knowledge that are of particular importance to us on our European journey, the joy of this event is even greater,” said Buhač.
She also spoke about the importance of opening a consular office.

“However, in the everyday, technical sense, this consular office will play an important role as a bridge between our peoples and in strengthening mutual understanding, support, as well as concrete cooperation, I hope also in strengthening investment projects in our canton,” said Buhač, adding that the Government HNK is at the disposal in all processes that will make the relations between the two countries even better, more concrete and more successful, Klix.ba reports.
