The delegation of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by the Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Major General Ivica Jerkić, is on an official working visit to the United States of America (USA) from November 13 to 17.
The delegation of the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Armed Forces of BiH visited the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington and met with the newly appointed Ambassador of BiH to the USA, Sven Alkalajaj.
During the meeting, General Jerkić informed Ambassador Alkalaj about the current situation, current challenges, but also the progress made within the MoBiH and the Armed Forces of BiH.
Also, opinions were exchanged regarding the modalities and methods of additional improvement of both military and civilian cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the USA, that is, the American federal state of Maryland.
There was also a meeting of the delegation of the MoDBiH and the Armed Forces of BiH with representatives of the US Department of Defense and the Joint General Staff of the US Army, which was attended by Patrick M. Antonietti, from the Office of the US Secretary of Defense for Policy, and Colonel Jamila Fitzpatrick, from the International Cooperation Department of the US Army. of the US Army.
The meeting discussed military cooperation so far and the possibilities for additional improvement, especially in the area of military education and modernization of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina through programs of the US government, such as Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Foreign Military Financing (FMF), IMET and the State Partnership Program. (SPP) and the “Army-army” program, which are implemented with the National Guard of the American federal state of Maryland, for the purpose of improving the interoperability and operational capabilities of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Likewise, the meeting discussed possible topics for the next Bilateral Defense Consultations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the USA, which should be held next year in the USA, announced the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
