William Joseph Burns, director of the Central Intelligence Service (CIA) of the United States of America (USA), today, during his visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina, held a meeting with the director of the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) Almir Džuvo, with members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Elmedin Konaković.

US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Michael Murphy was with Burns.

Burns first held a meeting with Almir Džuvo in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and then went to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he met with members of the BiH Presidency and BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković.

After his visit to Sarajevo, the CIA director travels to Belgrade, and according to Konaković, the USA observes the Western Balkans region as a whole.

An unnamed US government official said that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina were discussed, as well as the “worrying secessionist rhetoric of the President of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, and the Government of the BiH entity of the RS”.

Previously, Burns, as US Deputy Secretary of State, visited Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2012 and spoke with members of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović, Željko Komšić and Nebojša Radmanović, and with representatives of the Council of Ministers of BiH, AA writes.
