Two years have passed since the death of fellow Sarajevo citizen Arman Soldin, who died on May 9, 2023, while reporting from the Ukrainian battlefield. 32-year-old Arman was a long-time reporter and cameraman for the Agence France-Presse. Guests on New Day were Enra Soldin, Arman’s sister, and Nejla Mulić, the recipient of the Arman Soldin scholarship.

Arman’s sister, Enra Soldin, spoke emotionally about her brother.

“It’s very difficult to talk. Thinking and trying to find the strength to participate in the show, I thought that if Arman had the strength to stand in front of tanks, why wouldn’t I have the strength to talk about such a unique person. I can say with great pride that his name still resonates around the world after two years. A few days ago, an exhibition dedicated to Arman was held in Budapest. His courage is an inspiration to many,” said an emotional Enra Soldin.

Nejla Mulić, the applicant for the Arman Soldin scholarship, said that this decision carries great recognition, but also responsibility.

“This carries great recognition, but also responsibility. Arman searched for truth and justice. I need to continue on this path and fight. We must preserve the name of Arman. We young people must fight for truth and justice,” she said.

Arman’s sister, Erna, said that her brother experienced and worked honestly.

“Many saw Arman as a war reporter, but he was much more than that. He did everything sincerely. He was the epitome of kindness. He had positive energy. Without any exaggeration, I can say that he shone wherever he went. We as his family before this were not aware of how much he was loved around the world. He was a great lover of animals. He was extremely empathetic. He filmed the population with a cell phone, not a camera. So that the population would be less stressed. He was tireless. fighter for truth and justice,” she said.

French Ambassador to BiH François Delmas sent a message on the occasion of the second anniversary of Armand Soldin.

“Today marks two years since Arman was killed while doing his job as a journalist. France and Bosnia and Herzegovina will also honor him,” he said.

At the end of the conversation with N1, Enra said that she remembers her brother.

“Every time I think of him, it’s his smile, I can even still hear his laugh. I had a special relationship with him, he was my younger brother. Those are things that no one can ever take away from me. At this time two years ago, I was corresponding with him, he died in the afternoon. We were trying to talk him out of something like that,” she stated.

“He chose journalism as a profession, his role model was our father, who was a journalist. He always said that people should know the truth, that was his guiding idea. He is still with us,” Enra Soldin said with tears.

Let us remind you that Arman Soldin, an AFP reporter and cameraman from Sarajevo, was killed while reporting from eastern Ukraine, N1 writes.
