”The European Union (EU) will help strengthen the capacity of the Armed Forces (AF) of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), and this is an extremely important decision that will strengthen the capacities and capabilities of our AF. It will be realized through the new EU instrument ‘The European Peace Facility’ ”, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Bisera Turkovic.

“The goal of the mentioned instrument is to increase the EU’s ability to prevent conflicts, preserve peace, and strengthen international stability and security, while the total budget of this instrument is five billion euros for 2021-2027. BiH is the first beneficiary of these funds, and we expect a donation of ten million euros for strengthening the demining capacities of the AFBiH, “ Turkovic noted.

She expects that the EU foreign ministers will also adopt positions on the latest developments in BiH and the entire Western Balkans.

“It is essential to turn this crisis into a chance to meet the remaining conditions for candidate status as soon as possible. I think that would be the best response to retrograde policies,”Foreign Minister of BiH, Bisera Turkovic wrote on Facebook.
