Member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the head of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler, about the European integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ambassador Satler congratulated the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bećirović on concrete activities aimed at dynamizing the work of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and speeding up the process of European integration.

Bećirović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is clearly committed to European and Euro-Atlantic integration and that it is necessary to intensify activities on that front.

He pointed out that the candidate status for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s membership in the EU is the obligation of all levels of government to speed up steps in the implementation of the recommended measures.

The process of European integration requires a comprehensive adjustment of policies, institutional framework and legal system with the aim of reaching European standards in all areas.

Ambassador Sattler stated that the granting of candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina is a strong incentive for all actors on the political scene to work more intensively on the implementation of the necessary reforms, and encouragement for the citizens that a European perspective is possible.

A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, assessed that the reforms needed on the European road are not only technical conditions for progress but also instruments that will enable the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to have a better life.

The process of legal harmonization and acceptance of European standards implies extensive internal reforms that will have a favorable impact on all economic and political aspects of the life of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

During the conversation, the interlocutors agreed that the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina has no alternative.

Bećirović said, among other things, that with a joint approach with the European Union, we can build not only European but also global stability and security.
