The FBiH Government invested almost 1.7 Billion BAM in the Tuzla Canton

Members of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a work-consultative meeting in Tuzla on investments and financial support of the institutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Tuzla Canton for the period from 2023 until today. The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, presented information at today’s meeting, in which it was pointed out that in this period, the total investments of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Tuzla Canton amounted to 1,682,768,056.83 KM.

As announced by the FBiH Government Office for Public Relations, the Information includes expenditures and transfers of federal ministries, public companies and institutions whose competence is the realization of development programs, infrastructure projects, social protection, employment, education, culture and sports, environmental protection, and support for displaced persons and veteran population in the area of ​​TK.

For incentives to the economy in this canton under the jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, total grant funds amounted to 17,109,163.50 KM and were distributed through 12 programs to support the development of the private sector.

Support for labor and social policy in TK through investments by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in the period from 2023 to the end of March this year amounted to a total of 188,397,314.30 KM.

Investments in the transport and communication infrastructure of TK were realized through three entities, namely the Federal Ministry of Transport and Communications, and the public companies Autocesta FBiH and Roads FBiH, and totaled 193,837,715.96 KM.

A total of 535,101,477.38 KM amount to investments in the energy, mining, industry, as well as dedicated industries, and include interventions in several areas from the departments of the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry. The largest part of investments in this sector refers to infrastructure investments of JP Elektroprivreda BiH in production and distribution branches in the territory of TK, which amounted to a total of 375,660,670 KM. In addition, BH Gas realized investments in the amount of 739,148.68 KM within the framework of the Kladanj – Sarajevo gas pipeline project. As part of the Southern Interconnection project, an investment in the construction of a new gas pipeline direction Kladanj – Tuzla in the amount of 120,000,000 KM is planned.

Also, the Information stated that the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry realized investments in the territory of this canton in the total amount of 85,644,547.11 KM, and the largest part was aimed at supporting agricultural production and rural development, for which 80,947,306.59 KM was allocated.

The investments of the Agency for the Sava River Water Area in the protection against the harmful effects of water in TK from 2023 to 2025 amounted to 2,135,562.11 KM.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Science implemented activities and projects in the Tuzla Canton in the total amount of 4,276,986.13 KM in the areas of preschool, primary and secondary education, then higher education and student standards, as well as science and technology.

A total of 6,464,965.60 KM are the investments of the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports in this canton in the period 2023 – 2025, and the largest amounts were placed through capital transfers of sports infrastructure, as well as other levels of government and funds for the construction, adaptation and reconstruction of cultural institutions.

According to the data from the information discussed today, support for displaced persons and return in the Tuzla Canton through investments by the Federal Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees in the specified period amounts to a total of 38,948,407.06 KM. This amount was invested through 15 programs of this ministry with 4,378 beneficiaries and projects. The dominant item is the construction of individual and multi-residential buildings (RSP and CEB II) with 27,242,419.49 KM for 1,304 users in 326 housing units, and infrastructure projects with 9,859,016.88 KM for 167 projects.

Support to the veteran population in the TK of the Federal Ministry for Veterans and Invalids of the Defense and Liberation War amounts to a total of 259,030,000 KM.

The Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism implemented activities and projects in the field of environmental protection and tourism development in the territory of TK in the total amount of 5,434,690 KM, contributing to the improvement of the quality of the environment and the tourist offer of the canton.

Via Union banka d.d. Sarajevo, as an institution majority-owned by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, implemented three types of financial instruments in the territory of this canton in the total amount of 16,734,657 KM. Housing loans for young people amounted to 8,134,817 KM, loans for energy efficiency 49,840 KM, and funds of the credit-guarantee fund 8,550,000 KM.

The Development Bank of FBiH approved loans to cities, municipalities and public enterprises majority or 100% owned by the Federation of BiH in the area of ​​Tuzla Canton in the total amount of 59,440,000 KM. The funds are intended for the implementation of infrastructure projects and the purchase of equipment, including the projects of the Banovići Brown Coal Mine.

The Federal Ministry of Spatial Planning realized funds in the total amount of 3,225,000 KM in the territory of TK, distributed among three purposes, namely the warming of buildings, the protection of national monuments and the rehabilitation of landslides and the consequences of floods.

The Information states that the Federal Employment Agency and the Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities realized a total of 51,225,455.18 KM in the area of ​​TK. Of the stated amount, 45,353,500.41 KM refers to employment, self-employment and training programs, while 5,871,954.77 KM is aimed at supporting the employment of persons with disabilities.

Also, BH Telecom d.d. Sarajevo realized significant investments in the development of telecommunications infrastructure in the area of ​​Tuzla Canton in the total amount of 30,899,283 KM. The investments include the development of fixed and mobile networks and the procurement of equipment, contributing to the improvement of digital connectivity and the quality of telecommunications services for the population and economy of the canton.

The Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina implemented projects and activities on environmental protection and preservation in the territory of TK in the total amount of 10,379,302.50 KM. These funds contribute to the preservation of natural resources, the reduction of pollution and the improvement of ecological standards in the canton.

The Federal Institute for Agropedology implemented activities and projects in this area in the amount of 311,000 KM, aimed at supporting the sustainable use of agricultural land and improving the agrarian base of the canton.

The Federal Ministry of Finance made transfers to Tuzla Canton as a whole, and to all cities and municipalities in the territory of this canton in the total amount of 174,172,528 KM. The largest individual transfer refers to TK and amounts to 116,812,237 KM, and of the cities and municipalities, the cities of Tuzla received the most transfers 10,119,672 KM, then Gradačac 7,236,660 KM, and Gračanica 6,979,672 KM.

From today’s meeting, it was announced that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue with the implementation of development programs, projects and transfers for the benefit of all citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the fiscal possibilities and strategic priorities of the development of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Office of the Government of FBiH for Public Relations announced.
