The Fire in Konjuh is still active, the Help of the Armed Forces of BiH is expected

The fire that broke out on Mount Konjuh near Kladanj is still active, and assistance from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected today. About 15 hectares of forest are burning near the “Muška voda” complex.

As announced on the website of the Kladanj Voluntary Fire Company, the commander of that company was injured during the intervention.

The fire has been extinguished since yesterday by employees of the Forestry “Konjuh” from Kladanj and civil protection, as well as firefighters from several other municipalities of the Tuzla Canton.

The terrain is difficult to access, and the weather conditions favor the spread of fire. The fire has been burning since Friday night.

The executive director of “Tuzla Canton Forest” Amel Mazalović announced last night that the excavator is creating a security belt around the resort “Muška voda” so that the fire, which is very intense, would not threaten the facility, it was stated on the website of the Federal Civil Protection.

He pointed out that the “Forests of Tuzla Canton” left ten people on night duty together with the firefighters of Civil Protection Kladanj, and two fire trucks from Kalesija and Živinice came to help.

Mazalović pointed out that the mentioned vehicles cannot operate because they do not have an access road to the fire area, nor through the forest belt around the resort.

He said that it is possible for the fire to spread to other sides because there is a large amount of forest under fire and it is uncertain where the fire can spread, Srna writes.
