The first Robot Waiters in Bosnia and Herzegovina serve Guests (video)

The city of Derventa is the first in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to boast of introducing artificial intelligence into the hospitality industry. In one restaurant in Derventa, two robot waiters are “employed” serving guests.

Robot waiters, procured from China, attract a lot of attention from guests every day in the “Kort Caffe” restaurant, which is located within the Hiper Kort market in Derventa.

These robots make the work of restaurant staff easier by bringing orders to guests and also taking away dirty dishes.

“For years, our restaurant has been one of the favorite places of all residents of Derventa and that was one of the reasons why we decided to take this step. By renovating and expanding the capacity of the restaurant, our facility has about 200 seats. In addition to the ambiance itself, we also paid great attention to increasing the quality of service in our restaurant. That’s why we decided to introduce artificial intelligence with the help of two robot waiters. Their main purpose is to transport food, drinks, and dishes, which greatly facilitates and reduces the work of the other staff,” told Maja Vracevic, head of Kort Market’s marketing department.

Vracevic explains that these robots have four serving levels, which greatly increases the productivity and speed of service in the restaurant.

Also, the robots have the ability to interact with guests, which can be fun for guests of all ages.

”For example, guests can touch an ear and the robot can say thank you or say whether it likes or doesn’t like it. After serving the guest, that is, when the food is taken from him, it also thanks for the visit,” adds Vracevic.

“Their main purpose is transportation. The waiter takes the order and brings it to the kitchen, after the dish is ready in the kitchen, the food is served (put) on the robot and the number of the table to which the robot needs to take is entered. The amount of work for waiters is reduced, where they don’t have to go to the kitchen to carry plates, but a robot does it for them”.

However, with all the advantages they have, Vracevic says that artificial intelligence cannot completely replace a real worker, but only make the job easier. Tipping still goes to real waiters, Biznis Info reports.
