The First Smart Recycling Machines in BiH were installed in Sarajevo

The President of the Canton Sarajevo (CS) Tourist Board, Kenan Magoda, together with the partners of the project “Reciklomat” – Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF), Pomozi.ba, KJKP Rad and KJKP Park launched the first smart recycling machines in front of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) Hall in Sarajevo.

Magoda explained that the Tourist Board of CS does not have the authority to manage the cleanliness of the city and that this project provides an example of how everyone can work to increase awareness of the importance of ecology and appealed to the authorities to get involved in this ecological story with the aim of installing a hundred recycling machines in BiH as soon as possible.

”Today we are putting three recycling machines into circulation and our initial goal is to clean 10.000 bottles during the SFF because that is exactly the time when the largest number of tourists visit the city. We are working on the promotion of Sarajevo as an ecologically conscious city, and we will continue to follow global ecological trends,” Magoda stated yesterday.

During the SFF, it is possible to get tickets for film screenings by recycling, but also to help socially vulnerable residents throughout BiH by choosing the Pomozi.ba donation option, which is included in the recycling process.

Recycling is very simple because these are smart devices that recognize the packaging, sort, and specify the donation.

After the end of the SFF, in addition to the humanitarian option for the Pomozi.ba Association, recycling will be able to provide benefits such as free parking at places managed by the company “Rad”, and benefits at the Pionirska Dolina entertainment center managed by the company “Park”.

The plan is to set up recycling machines in Sarajevo City Center (SCC) and Grand Center Ilidza, and the call is open to other socially responsible companies from the public and private sector that are ready to take a step forward in raising ecological awareness, preserving, and protecting the environment to be part of this project.

Citizens and tourists are invited to actively participate in waste recycling in order to improve the cleanliness of the city and contribute to humanitarian actions, but also obtain benefits when using the services of the partners of this project, Klix.ba writes.
