The frozen Lake ‘Balik’ takes Visitors’ Breath away

Lake Balik, one of the highest lakes in Turkey, especially in winter, when its surface freezes due to low temperatures, is a true gift of nature and delights visitors who enjoy an interesting experience.

It is located in Eastern Anatolia, which is no stranger to extreme winter conditions, on the border of the provinces of Igdir and Agra.

This natural oasis is located at an altitude of 2,241 meters, and is considered one of the highest lakes in Turkey. However, it shows a special charm in winter, when its surface freezes.

In the summer months, people with campers come to the lake.

Locals from the surrounding areas, as well as visitors who want to enjoy untouched nature, walk on the surface of the lake and immortalize the moment through photography.

The frozen lake and the natural beauty around it were filmed by a drone.

The head of Taslikay, Ismet Tazemir, said that they organized summer and winter festivals on the lake.

He stated that the lake is suitable for winter tourism.

“Let’s hope that we will work on winter tourism. We need to introduce the lake to winter tourism. The lake is completely frozen and has a beautiful view. We invite nature lovers and photography enthusiasts to visit us. The ice on the lake does not melt until the summer months,” he said.

The desire, as he said, is for the lake to be protected, AA writes.
