German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock’s visit to the Ukrainian Black Sea port city of Mykolaiv was cut short for security reasons.
A Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement to German media that Baerbock and her delegation, which went to the city of Mykolaiv to visit a German-funded drinking water treatment plant, were escorted by a Russian drone.
The visit was interrupted and the delegation left the area in armored vehicles.
The statement stated that the drone moved away from the area after some time.
The German media reported that, after Baerbock left the region, an air attack took place on Mykolaiv.
They stated that the German minister finished her visit to Ukraine and returned to her homeland.
Baerbock was in Odessa yesterday to express her support for Ukraine in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
In a message published on the X account of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was announced that the reconstruction aid to Ukraine will be increased by 100 million euros, to 1 billion euros.
It is learned that Germany is also planning to hold a conference on the restructuring of Ukraine in Berlin in June.
