The Global Flotilla Heads Towards Gaza, Among Them A Humanitarian From BiH

Under the slogan “When the world is silent, we raise anchor,” a flotilla of ships with humanitarian aid and activists, among whom is also Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, set out yesterday from Barcelona with the aim of breaking the siege of Gaza, the organizers announced.

The “Global Sumud Flotilla” will try to break the Israeli blockade of the Palestinian territory and deliver humanitarian aid, food, water, and medicine.

Among the participants is Boris Vitlacil, a humanitarian from Sarajevo, who was seen off three days ago from Sarajevo Airport.

He is currently in Italy, where he is carrying out the final preparations for boarding the ship that will sail for Gaza. Boris sent a message to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in which he emphasized the importance of participating in the global action of solidarity.

He called on all BiH citizens to symbolically “connect” with water, rivers, lakes, or the sea, to record a photograph or a short video and share it with the Movement towards Gaza.

In the coming days, the flotilla will also be joined by ships that will set sail from Italy and Tunisia on September 4th. While thousands of Italians deliver food and basic necessities to the port intended for the residents of Gaza, activists and humanitarians are being given strong support on their path for peace and freedom, the organizers said.
