The government of Israel has suspended the work of 28 embassies around the world due to threats from Iran, the agency “Sky News Arabia” reported.

The report said diplomatic missions were suspended after Tehran threatened to respond to an Israeli attack on the Iranian Consulate General in the Syrian capital Damascus.

Radio station “Khan” announced yesterday that the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after consultation with security agencies, decided to evacuate numerous embassies as part of “unprecedented readiness for the expected Iranian response to the attack in Damascus, which was attributed to Israel.”

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Daniel Hagari said earlier that the army is on alert for any developments.

Meanwhile, an unnamed source from Israel told the Tass news agency that “reports about the evacuation of Israeli embassies are not true.”

A total of 13 people, including two generals of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, were killed in an Israeli attack on the Damascus Consulate.
