In Sarajevo, organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the handover of ambulances for three health institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina took place today.

The vehicles were secured within the framework of the Agreement on the exchange of notes between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of Japan on Japanese non-refundable aid in the amount of 100,000,000 Japanese yen for equipping medical institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is about the second part of the donation provided to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the basis of the aforementioned Agreement signed on February 23, 2021. These are Toyota vehicles with a total value of 153,810.00 euros.

Ambulances were assigned to health institutions designated as end users by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republika Srpska, the Federal Ministry of Health and the Department of Health and Other Services of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These are: ZU Hospital “Sveti Vračevi” Bijeljina, ZU Cantonal Hospital “Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić” Bihać and Sub-Department for Public Health of Brčko District BiH.

Assistant to the Minister of Civil Affairs in the Health Sector, Jurica Arapović, addressed the audience, stressing that the ambulances will provide healthcare institutions with better quality and more efficient healthcare services in emergency cases.

Assistant Arapović also thanked the Government of Japan on behalf of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina for this donation and continued support for the healthcare sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The handover was attended by Hajrudin Havić, Director, ZU Cantonal Hospital “Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić” Bihać and Mikajlo Lazić, Director, JZU Hospital “Sveti Vračevi” Bijeljina, Asmir Mujanović, Head of the Department of Health and Other Services of Brčko District, and Nedim Džafo, representative of the Federal Ministry of Health.

In the premises of the Bunjo car dealership in Sarajevo, where the handover was organized, a training session for the use of the vehicle was arranged for drivers from health facilities – end users.

It should be emphasized that the first part of the donation of medical equipment (portable ultrasound scanner ARIETTA 65) was realized in November 2023. The end user of the mentioned equipment is JZU Bolnica Gradiška.

The aforementioned Agreement was realized within the framework of the Japanese economic and social development aid instrument – the program to support the equipping of medical institutions, Klix.ba writes.
