The Ministry of Labor and Veterans and Disability Protection of Republika Srpska (RS) announced that the showing of a photo of a Bosniak woman from Zepa as part of the video material that was shown at the commemoration of 28 years since the Serbs suffered in the ”Storm” (”Oluja”) operation was “an inadvertent and unintentional mistake by the agency from Serbia that prepared the video material”.
They added that the agency was engaged by the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs of Serbia.
“The Ministry believes that the commemoration of 28 years since the suffering of the Serbian people during the ‘criminal action of the Croatian Army’ was dignified and that the messages sent were appropriate to the magnitude of the tragedy that befell the people of the ‘Republic of Serbian Krajina’ as well as the people of the ‘Visoka Krajina”.
To recall, during the commemoration of the anniversary of the “Storm” in Prijedor, which was attended by officials of Serbia and the RS entity, a photo that was taken in Zepa in 1995 appeared on one of the panels.
The President of the RS entity Milorad Dodik published a photo from the commemoration of the anniversary of “Storm” in Prijedor on his official Twitter account.
The photo of the woman with children behind Dodik was actually taken in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). AFP photographer Joel Robine took a picture of Sabina Mujkic, a woman who along with thousands of other Bosniaks was expelled from Zepa on July 27th, 1995, Klix.ba reports.
