The Koprukoy Mosque in Adana, Turkey, known as the “Green Mosque” because of the ivy that covers its outer walls and minaret, attracts the attention of visitors with its unique blend of architecture and nature.

The Turkish city of Adana can boast of natural beauty, architecture and historical sights. However, Adana is also known for its mosques, and the “green mosque” attracts the greatest attention of passers-by. It got its name from the fact that its walls are overgrown with greenery.

Located along the Seyhan River, the mosque is distinguished by the gorgeous colors of the flowers in bloom and the vibrant shades of green in its courtyard, which is why its overall environment resembles a botanical garden.

Walls covered with ivy, flower alleys and natural shade in the courtyard have created a space of peace and quiet that attracts believers, tourists and photographers.

Photos captured by Anadolu reporter show this religious building as one of the most visually recognizable buildings in Adana, where nature and architectural details create a harmonious whole.
