The heiress of the company “Loreal” Françoise Betancourt Myers became the first woman to reach a fortune of 100 billion dollars.

“Loreal” is a French cosmetics giant founded by her grandfather Eugene Schuler. The company’s shares reached a record value on Thursday and Friday on the Paris stock exchange.

The company is picking up sales again after a hiatus during the coronavirus crisis, when people under lockdown used less make-up.

Myers’ net worth exceeded $100 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, and she is the 12th richest person in the world.

She is still quite far behind her compatriot Bernard Arnault, who is second on the list with a net worth of $179 billion.

Arno is the founder of the largest so-called luxury group in the world LVMH, which includes companies such as “Fendi” and “Louis Vuitton”.

Myers is the vice president of the company’s board, and she and her family are the largest individual shareholders of “Loreal” with a share of about 35 percent.

She became the heir after the death of her mother Liliane Betancourt in 2017, reminds the BBC.
