In Greece, where there is extreme heat, it was decided on Friday that the historical Acropolis in the capital Athens will be closed to visitors between noon and 5 p.m., reports Anadolu.

The Ministry of Culture of Greece reminded that the Ministry of Labor and Social Security has adopted precautionary measures to protect employees from extreme temperatures.

In the press release, it was announced that the Acropolis, where the Parthenon Temple is located, will be closed to visitors from noon to 5 p.m. due to high temperatures.

The temperature is expected to rise to 43 degrees, and it will last until the weekend.

Due to the high temperatures that have been recorded in Greece for the past ten days, measures to protect employees and citizens were announced, which will be valid until the end of the week.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security has decided to take special precautions for all employees in the public and private sectors in the period from July 16th to 19th, when temperatures are expected to be very high.

It has been decided to suspend works such as external construction, courier services and transport of products if the temperature rises above 40 degrees between noon and 5 p.m. for three days.

On Wednesday and Thursday, it was requested to suspend work in shipyards at temperatures above 38 degrees.

It was announced that employers who do not comply with these measures will be fined 2,000 euros for each employee.

Officials were given the opportunity to work from home during the period when temperatures are above 40 degrees, AA writes.
