The construction of the Rescue House at Štin Dol, on the Bjelašnica mountain near Sarajevo, has been completed. What remains is the interior furnishing of the building, which is in progress, as well as smaller exterior works and landscaping of the surrounding area.

This was confirmed for Fena news agency from the Municipality of Trnovo, with a note that the building was in a dilapidated state in the period after the war, and the Municipality of Trnovo initiated a reconstruction project. After the project documentation was done and the contract was signed in 2020, the construction of a completely new facility began.

The investor of the works is the Municipality of Trnovo, with the participation of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Tourist Board of Canton Sarajevo. The contractor is Neimari, and Arting BH supervises.

The rescue house retains its original purpose, additional facilities are planned. The total gross area of the building is 559.36 m2, and it consists of a basement, a ground floor and two attics. According to the project, the facility is planned to contain, among other things, a rescue room, a reception and a souvenir shop, bathrooms, bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, a booth, toilets, a meeting room and a terrace.

The “House of Rescue” is located in Ština Dol, on the way to Lukomir and the top of the mountain Bjelašnica. That object has its own history. The name itself speaks of how it really was a salvation for many passers-by and mountaineers, during blizzards and strong winds. It mostly benefited the locals who took shelter there from the storm on their way to their villages, as well as the shepherds who looked after their flocks in those areas.

The “House of Rescue” in Ština Dol, on the Bjelašnica mountain, is one of the projects aimed at raising the quality of the tourist offer and promoting tourism in the area of the municipality of Trnovo.
