‘The Idea was to show that Kurti cannot control the North of Kosovo’

Yesterday, there was a discussion on one show about the topic that once again forced the issue of Kosovo to the top of the regional, European and even world political public.

It all started with the murder of a Kosovo policeman. After that, about thirty armed, then unknown, attackers took refuge in a monastery in Banjska, from where they resisted.

This was followed by the action of members of the Special Unit of the Kosovo Police. They killed four attackers. Several of them were arrested, and as reported by the Kosovo media, an unknown number of attackers fled to Serbia.

This was followed by a political showdown and accusations on the route Belgrade – Pristina, Vucic – Kurti. For official Pristina, the attackers are Serbian terrorists, for Belgrade, Serbian heroes.

On this occasion, the guests of the show were Albinot Maloku, political analyst from Kosovo, and Zarko Korac, professor of psychology and political analyst from Serbia.

Maloku states that Kosovo has started an investigation.

The latest crisis arose because of the conflict between Vucic and Kurti regarding the Brussels Agreement signed in 2013 on the formation of the Community of Serbian Municipalities, according to Korac.

Korac said: “Vucic made radical and wrong moves trying to force Kurti to form that community. This is not the last violence, but it is the first time that serious weapons have been fired. The crisis is clearly worsening, the whole idea is for him to show that Kurti can‘t control the north of Kosovo”.
