The Import of Honey in BiH is 14 Times higher than the Export

The value of honey exports from Bosnia and Herzegovina last year amounted to 240.9 thousand BAM, which is 20.3 percent less compared to the previous year, according to the analysis of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Honey exports also decreased in quantity by 44.4 percent, as 6.9 tons were exported in 2023, and 12.5 tons in 2022, while imports amounted to 468.8 tons.

Honey was mostly exported from Bosnia and Herzegovina last year to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

In that period, the value of honey imports amounted to 3.5 million BAM, which is 25 percent less than in 2022. The import markets were Croatia, Turkey, Serbia, North Macedonia and New Zealand.

The total turnover of the foreign trade exchange of honey in 2023 was about four million BAM, and the coverage of import by export was 0.06 percent.
