The Israeli military announced today that it had launched a targeted attack on Hezbollah’s main headquarters in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Lebanese media reports that the violent attack destroyed six buildings. It was the largest attack by the Israeli Air Force on the Beirut suburb of Dahiya, which is considered a stronghold of Hezbollah.
Fox News reports that the target of the recent Israeli attack on Beirut was Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
Chaos reigns in the city itself, rescuers and the army are trying to find the survivors. In the meantime, the Iranians also spoke out, the state agency Tasnim wrote that Nasrallah is safe and that the information spread by Israel is not correct.
Israeli media reports that the entire Israeli security structure is currently in bunkers. The last time Israel tried to kill Nasrallah was in 2006 during the Lebanon-Israel war.
The United Nations said they were alarmed by Israeli air attacks on the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut.
“The UN is watching the developments with great concern,” UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric told a briefing.
