The municipality of Kalinovik donates 2,000 BAM to each child who enrolls in the first grade of primary school, and 1,000 BAM for enrollment in the first grade of secondary school, but there are not many children in this town.

In the first grade of the “Ljutica Bogdan” Primary School in Kalinovik, four students were enrolled in the next school year, which is one child less than last year, said the director of this educational institution, Verica Elez.

Elez stated that the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republika Srpska will provide free textbooks in the new school year for first graders, as well as for all students up to the fourth grade of primary school.

She added that for all students from the fifth to the ninth grade, textbook sets for the appropriate grade are available in the school library. Elez specified that it is about used textbooks that the students returned to the library, and that the procurement of missing or new textbooks is financed by the municipality of Kalinovik.

“Textbooks for students from the fifth to the ninth grade from families with four or more children are provided by the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of the Republika Srpska,” said the director of the primary school in Kalinovac.

According to her, a total of 53 students were enrolled in all nine classes at Elementary School “Ljutica Bogdan” in the next school year.

“This year, we have a problem with providing teaching staff for the subjects of chemistry and technical education. No one responded to the announced competition for these positions, which is why we will repeat the competition in the hope that someone will respond,” Elez said, adding that most schools with a small number of students, there is a problem with qualified staff for subjects with a small number of classes.
