The Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina is implementing the project “Digital Library and Stage Treasury of BiH – Opening the Literary and Theatre Heritage to the Public” whose goal is to improve the protection, preservation and accessibility of the valuable literary and theatre heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton, as well as the Museum’s own funds, the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.

The project includes activities to protect and preserve priority museum materials, improve the presentation of exhibition content, prepare and print publications, and promote and increase the visibility of cultural heritage that the Museum has been preserving for more than six decades.

A special focus of the project is on preserving sensitive archival and museum materials, improving the conditions for their long-term preservation, as well as increasing the accessibility of cultural content to the public.

The Director of the Museum of Literature and Theatre Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šejla Šehabović, emphasized that the project represents an important step in the process of systematic preservation of the literary and theatre heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The museum preserves extremely valuable material that represents an indispensable part of the cultural history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. By implementing this project, we are improving the conditions for the protection and presentation of heritage, but also strengthening the Museum’s capacities for future activities in the field of culture and preservation of cultural heritage,” Šehabović emphasized.
