At the meeting of the Commission for Cooperation with NATO of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and representatives of NATO at the headquarters of the Alliance in Brussels, the Individual Tailored Partnership Program (ITPP) between BiH and NATO for the period 2025-2028 was adopted.

The document, which represents a new framework of cooperation between BiH and NATO, was adopted during the meeting of the Commission with the NATO Partnership and Cooperative Security Committee (PCSC). With this act, the commitment of both sides to continue partnership relations and to strengthen reform processes in BiH is further confirmed.

The ITPP, in accordance with NATO’s concept of “One partner, one plan”, jointly and coherently regulates existing partnership mechanisms and enables more efficient management of NATO programs in BiH. The document provides a comprehensive framework of cooperation based on the strategic goals from the BiH Reform Program, as the main framework of relations with NATO.

During the adoption of the ITPP, the Allies welcomed the efforts of BiH in preparing the document and expressed full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, emphasizing the importance of continuing cooperation and stability in the region.

The Chair of the Commission and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Josip Brkic, informed NATO representatives that the 2025 Reform Program has already been adopted at the level of the Commission and will soon be forwarded to the Council of Ministers of BiH. He also highlighted that the self-assessments for the Reform Programs of 2023 and 2024 have been completed and delivered to NATO.

As part of the visit to Brussels, the delegation of the Commission also held a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Sekerinska, who congratulated BiH on the adoption of the ITPP, describing it as a “historic moment and a confirmation of the strong partnership between BiH and NATO.”

The interlocutors agreed on the importance of the timely adoption of the 2025 Reform Program and the continuation of concrete activities in strengthening cooperation. At the meetings, it was concluded that the new ITPP represents a significant step in strengthening relations between BiH and NATO, contributing to the stability and security of Southeast Europe, without prejudicing the final decision on the membership of BiH in the Alliance.
