The Bjelašnica-Igman Olympic Center is satisfied with the winter season on these BiH Olympic mountains, is confirmed to Fena news agency from this center.
“The winter season on the Olympic mountains of Bjelašnica and Igman started in mid-December and we can boast of excellent results. It continued with the same intensity in January. At the end of January and the beginning of February, temperatures were higher, so the snow melted, but for the past three days, temperatures have been below zero, so the weather conditions are in our favor and we have started producing artificial snow,” said Lea Kalender, spokesperson for the Bjelašnica-Igman Olympic Center.
As she pointed out, in this regard, the Bjelašnica-Igman OC expects February to be ideal for skiing.
“We have cold and sunny days, no wind. February has started perfectly, we are announcing skiing every weekend in February, both in daytime and nighttime. Daytime hours are from 08:30 to 16:00, and nighttime hours from 18:30 to 21:00. Night skiing is currently planned for Friday, Saturday and Sunday,” said Kalender.
She added that visitors can follow the social networks of OC Bjelašnica-Igman, where information for the current day will be published daily.
Kalender also emphasized that OC Bjelašnica will host the FIS Europa Cup in alpine skiing on February 21 and 22.
“This is a big and positive event for Bjelašnica, but also for the entire Sarajevo Canton. We will have more than 30 countries, about 100 competitors. We are doing our best to ensure that the season goes smoothly, and that skiers and our visitors are satisfied,” said Kalender.
The Jahorina Olympic Center told Feni that the winter season on Jahorina has been going on for 71 days continuously, providing skiers and snowboarders from all over the region and the world with top conditions on excellently prepared slopes.
“While some other ski resorts, such as Durmitor and Bjelasica, are closing their doors, Jahorina continues to operate thanks to its modern infrastructure and modern artificial snowmaking system, which ensures quality snow regardless of the weather,” it was explained from Jahorina Olympic Center.
They emphasized that February on Jahorina promises fantastic skiing and an unforgettable time for all visitors.
“Our employees work tirelessly day and night to ensure the best possible conditions on the slopes. Thanks to their efforts and SnowFactory technology, which enables snow production even at plus temperatures, we have managed to overcome all the challenges brought by this winter. In the past few days alone, we have produced around 50,000 m³ of artificial snow, further improving conditions for skiers and snowboarders,” they pointed out from OC Jahorina.
They added that they are optimistic about the continuation of the season, as lower temperatures are expected in the coming days, which are ideal conditions for the operation of the complete snowmaking system.
“We use every moment to produce snow because we know how important it is for our guests to have safe and high-quality slopes,” they emphasized.
As they state, around 195,000 skiers and snowboarders have visited Jahorina so far, making an impressive 1,550,000 passes on their installations.
“These figures best testify to the continuous growth and popularity of Jahorina. If we compare them with the base season before the arrival of the new management, when we had only 30,000 visitors throughout the winter, it is clear that Jahorina has become one of the most desirable destinations for winter sports enthusiasts. Our modernized installations allow a capacity of 35,000 skiers per hour, which has significantly reduced crowds and enabled uninterrupted enjoyment on the slopes,” said the Jahorina Ski Resort.
In addition to skiing, the BiH Olympic mountain Jahorina also offers visitors a rich entertainment program, and the Olympic bar on the top of the mountain organizes numerous performances by famous performers during February, Fena news agency writes.
