During yesterday’s extraordinary session, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) passed a decision to initiate negotiations for concluding an Agreement between BiH and the European Union (EU) on the operational activities carried out by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) in BiH.

Starting negotiations with Frontex is one of the key conditions for opening negotiations with the EU.

The EU Delegation in BiH welcomed this decision by the Presidency.

“This is an important step and one of the priorities ahead of the European Council in March. Increased cooperation in border management is in the interest of both the EU and BiH,” they wrote in a post on X.
